1.     Intro the sessions:

First Half:

• Intro ourselves
• Look a bit at the history and definitions of "Open Source" and "Free Software"
• Look at the different licences
• Indentify the key resources and tools used by Open Source developers
• Look at how "Open Source/Free Software" is deployed differently in different social/economic/cultural contexts
• Look at how free software creates communities of users and developers
• Look at some of the current threats to fs/os.

Second Half

A choice of tasks:

• Your mac is unix under the hood - a unix tutorial for os x users
• Try out cd-only linux distributions.
• Research your own area of interest.

Note:  Lets employ an "open souce" spirit...in all sessions...   Please feedback.  Please take initiative.

• contribute what you know: feedback to your community
• be critical and constructive: if you can suggest a better ways of doing things lets hear about it.
• answer questions with our collective knowlege, and if thats not enough, use the collective knowlege of the net!
