A special documentation software was developed for tech_nicks by Safetycat Inc. Made in director and downloadable from the net, catreader is designed to make a multimedia interface to text, images, video clips and sounds gathered during the workshops. Each workshop is uploaded as a seperate package, which users can download, then read offline and archive on their own computer. The documentation packages are designed to be "content heavy and bandwidth light", and able to be generated quickly during an event. During tech_nicks, documentation was gathered by Jason Skeet, Sam de Silva and Toni Prug. Download the software at: http://bak.spc.org/tech_nicks/ . Twelve workshops are already online. The software and the documentation gathering and editing process is part of a continuing research process. Expect more workshops in Jan 2001 and maybe a CD-ROM in Feb 2001.
